Other things to note

Omonia is the beating heart of Athens — busy, real, and completely central. Markets, bakeries, and coffee spots open early and stay open late. It is not a neighbourhood that has been cleaned up for tourists and that is exactly what makes it worth staying in. You are not visiting Athens from here. You are in it.

Like any central city area, Omonia is urban and lively at all hours. If you are looking for a quiet residential street, this is not it. If you want to be in the middle of everything with the metro four minutes away on foot, there is nowhere better.
